To this very informative article on building a business to sell, as a long-time business coach, I'd like to add the concept of a "stop loss." I've seen too many solopreneurs start a business without a solid plan and/or the finances to hire help or methodically grow. They plug away, often for years, not making enough money to "get ahead," or they may even even lose money, but insist their business has value. It's important to admit when it's not working and either get help, change direction or say "Enough!" and move on.
